It’s been a beauty-filled month for me as I received a gift package from K-beauty brand Lagom and TWO Raxy beauty boxes. The first was from a Twitter retweet campaign. Which, I should mention that I only retweeted to get the word out to my Japan-based English speaking followers. Sorry, y’all!

The second beauty box to arrive this month was the June 2019 Raxy Beauty Box: Senbou no Hare Bihada. Senbou no Hare Bihada (羨望の晴れ美肌) means something like “enviable radiant skin.” The products curated for this month are all about letting one’s natural skin shine in the summertime. I personally hold back on makeup during the summer because it gets so unbelievably humid, that it’s like I could feel my makeup melting off layer by layer.
The June 2019 Raxy Beauty Box has products from Japan, Korea, as well as the US — a very international selection of beauty products!
A product of the US, Andalou Naturals Argan Oil & Blue Clay Face Mask is a single-use clay mask that uses argan oil and french clay to drive out impurities and “stimulate circulation for clean clear complexion.” “Stimulate” undoubtedly refers to the very tingly sensation that I got after applying this minty mask to my face.
Judging by the packaging, it doesn’t look like there’s much, but apparently all you need is just enough to cover the surface of the skin. The product itself looks like a standard clay mask but it’s surprisingly lightweight and actually slightly thicker than a foam.
After 10 minutes, I rinsed off, added serum and followed up with Haruharu WONDER Honey Green Repairative Cream. Andalou Naturals Argan Oil & Blue Clay Face Mask is cruelty free, 99% derived from nature and GMO free. I think I’ll pick up a few of these when I go to the US next month.
ハルハル ワンダー HGRクリーム
HaruHaru WONDER Honey Green Reparative sheet masks made an appearance in the January 2019 beauty box, so it was a wonderful surprise to see the cream version in this month’s box.
To recap, the Honey Green Reparative series is 95% derived from natural ingredients and uses fermented green tea and honey to revitalize and repair skin cells. Honey also has anti-inflammatory properties, so this cream is great to have on hand if you have acne flare up. I initially thought this tube was full-sized, but the real deal (88g) comes in a cute coffee cup-like container! This tube could easily last me a month, even if I used it every day.
Little Kaiju saw this as soon as I took it out of the packaging and claimed it as hers! While I have yet to use it with makeup, it’s definitely softer yet springier than my current puff. I just hope she’ll give me a chance to use this one! I switched to a silicon puff last summer and it’s completely changed how much liquid foundation use. Plus, they are extremely easy to clean (just wipe with makeup remover and let air dry). If you haven’t made the switch, now’s the time to do so!
The only “complaint” I have about my Raxy beauty box is that the foundations and concealers are way too light for my skin. Now, that doesn’t stop me from using them, and nor will it stop me from using Maccia Label Clear Esthe Veil because 62% of its ingredients are skin care components. It’s basically a foundation that nurtures the skin by letting it breathe from underneath a layer of makeup.
It’s great from summer days when you want just light coverage like a tinted moisturizer, but one that can block UVA and UVB rays. In my case, I apply a very thin layer and top with a dusting of powder foundation.
June 2019 Raxy Beauty Box Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Next Month’s theme is “Dramatic Summer.” Keeping my fingers crossed for light fragrances, body sheet masks or color eyeliner!
