I recently went to The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed cafe in Ginza. While I had trouble making my way to my exit, it was mild compared to my Shinjuku disaster a few months back. Children all over the world know Eric Carle and his works, but it seems like his books and characters have made a significant impact in Japan. Cementing Eric Carle’s status as (perhaps) Japan’s most celebrated children’s author is The Very Hungry Caterpillar Cafe. This whimsical cafe is in Ginza, Tokyo and is based on his beloved book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Date with Baby – Kasai Rinkai Park, Ikspiari, and Disney Resort Line After a period of adjustment back to life in Japan, baby and I went on a half-day date. Out trip, by bus and train, took us around Edogawa in Tokyo and Maihama in Chiba. We visited Kasai Rinkai Park, then headed to Ikspiari, a Disney themed shopping mall. Finally, we rode the Disney Resort Line (Disney monorail) to Tokyo Disney Sea before heading home.
Date with Baby – Japanese Passport & Pickup in Shinjuku Baby just got out of the womb not too long ago, and already she has TWO international trips planned this year. Lucky girl! I did my first international flight at 19- she’s going on her first flight at 5 months!
